Our Community “Went Green” – Now What?

s metropolitan and suburban city populations increase, the focus on operating in a more sustainable manner increases as well. New condominiums and townhome


communities are being built to serve an increasing desire for homebuyers to live near work, or amid a dense community. In   consideration as part of development, up to and including anticipation of electric vehicle charging needs.


But, where does that leave the hundreds of existing communities that see the need for reducing their “footprint” in the world, but may not know where to start?


A little bit of research and a few in-depth conversations with your board may be all you need to start improving your community’s   greener. Here are a few places to start:


Review your Reserve Study


Are your major components such as siding, windows, decks, or roofs coming up for maintenance or replacement? If so, consider asking your envelope consultant about  when drafting the scope of
