PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE Shawn Gay, DC

President, WSCA Board of Directors

It’s been a hot and busy summer, and the WSCA has been going non-stop. Between the fun of this year’s golf tournament, the

slightly-less-exciting strategic planning meetings, and the roll out of our new premium membership program, the past few months have been all about building up the association and providing an ever-increasing quality of benefits for our members.

We have so much in store for our members in the coming months and years, but as this issue of Plexus focuses on social media, I’d like to address the roll out of our new membership tiers. Chiropractors all over the state are inquiring about Olympic and Rainier membership—not only because of the amazing discounts they bring, the no-cost registration they provide to annual conferences, or the additional exposure they give participating practices; but mainly because of its value-added social media benefit.

Pertinent, vetted content from chiropractic thought leaders is sourced every business day and posted to my Facebook account, driving conversations with my existing patients, which they spread to their friends. The number of people I’m reaching is incredible—and I never would have had access to them before taking up this benefit.

I’m not a big social media guy, and I wouldn’t be surprised to hear many of you say the same thing. But I do know that having an effective social media presence is essential to running a successful practice these days, and frankly, I don’t have the time to do it myself. The social

This isn’t meant to be a sales pitch—I’m just excited about the results this program is getting, and I can’t wait to see where it and our new membership tiers take this association in the years to come. This edition of Plexus will delve deeper into the ins and outs of social media marketing, as well as other online resources you can use to enhance your practice. So give it a look and consider how you approach marketing through social media. You’ll be surprised at the impact it can have on your business.
