WSCA Long-Time Member Spotlight Name: Lucia Vracin, DC

Practice: Sequim Health and Chiropractic What chiropractic

school did you attend and what year did you graduate? Life West, graduated in 1992.

What made you want to be a chiropractor?

I was in nursing school and I was working early mornings before school doing data entry for a busy local chiropractor. I would see the evidence in the office of patients healing and recovering and it sparked my interest. I was then in a car accident and the doctor took care of me and continued to adjust my spine while I recovered. I decided that the chiropractic profession was

a more natural approach to medicine that I wanted to embrace and become a part of. That’s when I switched from Nursing school to Chiropractic school. I’m so thankful that I did. It’s been such a rewarding and fulfilling career!

How has being a member of the WSCA helped you? The WSCA has always been on the front lines fighting for our rights and privileges as chiropractors. The WSCA helps to keep me informed and connected with other WA State chiropractors as well as providing excellent continuing education.

many times multiple generations in the same family. Trust is a privilege that is earned. I’ve seen the importance of really listening to the patient. Empathy and objectivity are important tools, allowing for compassion and professionalism.

What single piece of advice would you give to a new DC? A single piece of advice that I would give to a new DC is something my dad, who was a physician, told me. Always do your best with each patient and that will be your best form of advertising.

What is an interesting fact about you? I do daily vigorous exercise to stay strong for my work and while I’m exercising I pray for my patients and family. My heart is filled with love and gratitude.
