Neighborhood Services Organization (NSO) is a United Way partner agency founded in 1969 to help provide dental care, nutrition and safe, healthy homes for families in the Oklahoma City area. Trey Petty, CPA, joined the board of

directors in 2017 and helped create a plan to pay down the organization’s long-term debt. “During my time on the Finance Committee,

we developed some additional metrics that allowed greater insight for both managers and the board of directors,” Petty explained. “I worked closely with the CFO and CEO to set goals for each of their respective areas and gained a better understanding of their operational issues.” He added, “I’m proud to serve for NSO and continue to provide an encouraging hand to those in need.” Petty, who earned his bachelor’s degree from

Oklahoma State University and his master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma, is an assurance manager at Ernst & Young LLP in Oklahoma City, where he has taken on some challenging tasks he believes have shaped him into the professional he is today. It was a challenging year, but I learned a great deal and grew into a better leader for my audit teams.” Petty was also selected to serve in a position

that is prized in his organization. Sarah Stafford, CPA, a 2012 OSCPA

Trailblazer, said, “He serves as the regional liaison for the People Advisory Forum for EY, which is an appointed position that is highly sought after in the firm, as only one person is selected from each service line in a particular office.”

Katie McKnight, CPA, an assurance senior manager with Ernst & Young LLP, also praised Petty for his involvement on the People’s Advisory Forum, saying, “It is an extreme honor to be selected for this opportunity, and Trey has excelled in his role. He plays a meaningful role in inclusiveness and worked tirelessly to identify opportunities to improve the level of inclusiveness and job satisfaction, not just on his teams, but across the office.” McKnight, a 2015 Trailblazer, added, “Trey is heavily involved in Junior Achievement and United Way, setting an exceptional example for community service to our other team members….He is an invaluable member of the Oklahoma City office.”
