A member for 17 years, Williams is the 2017 Public Service Award winner. Additionally, BKD’s Tulsa office announced promotions Jake McClendon, CPA; Zach Mobley, CPA; and Cassie Norris, CPA, to senior associates on its audit & assurance team. McClendon and Mobley have each been members about a year, while Norris joined in November.

Jimmy J. Williams, CPA,


PFS, CFPA, president of Compass Capital Management in McAlester, presented a year-end tax planning presentation to the McAlester


Lions Club titled, “Te Twelve Tax Deductions the President Gave to Me.” To emphasize his message, Williams closed his speech by leading the club in a song containing his discussed 12 tax law changes. Williams has served on numerous OSCPA committees, including the Business Valuation/Forensic Litigation Support, Professional Ethics and Nominations Committees and is currently serving on the Bylaws and Personal Financial Planning Committees and is a District #2 CPA/PAC member. A member since 1989, Williams is a former OSCPA chairman of the board, is the 2007 Oklahoma Accounting Hall of Fame inductee and the 2007 Public Service Award winner. Additionally, Williams gave two interviews for Sunday Morning Magazine, which airs on Sunday mornings on Cumulus radio stations in Oklahoma City. NewView President and CEO


Lauren Branch, CPA, a member for nearly 23 years, was featured in Te Journal Record discussing how government shutdowns affect her


organization. NewView is the largest employer of blind people in the state and has contracts with many branches of government. Branch said, “Some of the services we provide are mission- critical, but we won’t get paid. We’ve got budgets to meet and employment goals, and that’s all on hold.”
