1860- ADA Adopts its first Constitution and Bylaws. William H. Atkinson is named the first President.
1959- ADA celebrates its 100th Anniversary in New York City with approximately 55,000 in attendance. Te U.S. Post Office issues a special stamp in commemoration of the anniversary.
1964- ADA establishes the ADA Health Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization for the purpose of engaging dental health research and educational programs.
1907- Te ADA Relief Fund is established for the use of dentists who may find themselves in need because of man-made or natural disasters in response to the great San Francisco earthquake of 1906.
1912- Te ADA adopts a new Constitution and Bylaws establishing the House of Delegates, the Board of Trustees and the tripartite membership structure.
1922- Te Association assumes its original name, the American Dental Association, and is incorporated.
1987- ADA Commission on the Young Professional is formed (later becomes the New Dentist Committee).
1991- Dr. Geraldine Morrow is elected as the first female president of the ADA.
2006- ADA Foundation leads a major relief effort to aid dentist victims of Hurricane Katrina
1930s- ADA has more than 36,000 members, representing about half of U.S. dentists, and 85% of the market share by the end of the 1940s.
1934- ADA adopts policies of social principles and ventures into a project with the U.S. Public Health Service to give dental examinations to 1.5 million children in 26 states.

2012- Te ADA launches its consumer website, Mouth Healthy, which is designed to provide patients with timely and credible oral health information.
