Preparations underway for 2014 MDA House

The MDA House of Delegates will convene November 7-8, 2014 at the Capitol Plaza Hotel in Jefferson City. All MDA members are invited to attend the House meetings, and during the Reference Committee Hearings, any member may present testimony on a resolution.

Each November MDA House Committees, the MDA Board, local com- ponent societies and/ or individual delegates have the opportunity to introduce resolutions to be considered as a part of the Association’s House of Delegates. The House is a forum for delegates from each component society to hear and debate each reso- lution, amend if desired, and vote on its passage or defeat.

In addition to voting on res- olutions, including the dues and forthcoming year’s bud-

get, the House is the venue for election of the Associa- tion’s officers. This is done through a process by which the Board of Trustees for- wards a slate of candidates for House approval. At the August Board meeting, the Board voted to submit the following officers: Dr. Jody Vance (President-Elect/ Secretary), Dr. Tom Stone, (Speaker) and Dr. Daniel Kessler (Treasurer). See this page for information.
