Celebrate Success

with Awards

CAI-IL has many successes to celebrate. Those successes would not be possible without the expertise and dedication of our many volunteers. Each year, CAI holds the Excellence Awards & Winter Gala to recognize these achievements. 2014 also marked the first year we included three new awards: Manager of the Year, Community Association Volunteer of the Year, and Business Partner of the Year. We are pleased to have received nominations in the manager category and awarded our first Manager of the Year at the event. Congratulations to all of our award winners on your outstanding successes!

Manager of the Year Award

The Manager of the Year Award recognizes an individual who has knowledge, ethics, professionalism, and skills in community association management with verifiable experience in financial, administrative, and facilities management in at least one community association.

Patricia A. Bialek, CMCA, AMS, PCAM, has been in the community management business for 20 years and is currently employed as Vice President, Property Management at FirstService Residential.

Despite Pat’s supervisory role within the organization, she still plays a critical role in the day-to-day operations of over 150 communities. Pat works tirelessly to ensure that all of the communities she serves are well prepared, educated, and provided for. Pat has dedicated much of her personal time to help train internal associates, as well as Board members. Pat has a passion for property management that is most visible when she is assisting her subordinates.

Pat’s desire to see those that work for her succeed is unmatched in this industry. When Pat signed up for the case study as the last step to complete her PCAM requirements in 2013, she looked for additional recruits. For Pat it’s not about getting to the finish line before everyone else or first; it’s about the company and her fellow peers finding success along the journey. Pat earning her PCAM is “the pinnacle of community association management,” to quote CAI. One could argue the greater achievement is her influence for others to obtain theirs.

Pat’s dedication goes beyond the FirstService Residential family. Pat is a very active member of CAI, where she is a regular speaker and lecturer. Pat is an advocate for continuing education for both managers and board members. When she is talking with a current or prospective client, you will frequently hear her ask if
