& the First Documented Art Installation on a Condominium High-rise

ARTIST Assaf Evron

The Esplanade Apartments, located at 900 and 910 North Lake Shore Drive are the work of one of the most influential architects in history, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. Initially completed in 1955 as rental apartments, the buildings were converted to condominiums in 1979 and largely remain in the same integrity as originally built.

The 900-910 Lake Shore Drive residential community includes 524 units across two 29-story high rises with convertible, studios and one, two, and three-bedroom units. There is also a 327-space underground parking garage that connects the two buildings.

900-910’s prime location in Chicago’s Streeterville neighborhood area offers nearby shopping on the Magnificent Mile and is highly visible on the iconic Lake Shore Drive. The location and highly recognizable architecture created the perfect canvas for the unique vision of artist Assaf Evron.
