My dad — Ken Moody of Cane Gully Cattle and Goat Co. in Moncks Corner, S.C., — is probably one of the biggest fans of Goat Rancher. He used to make us wait for him at Tractor Supply while he read the latest issues when we made our regular feed stops. He’s always growing his herd, improving, doing all the goat things. So we eventually got him a subscription so it would speed up our feed

runs. When I say he looks for- ward to the magazine each month, I mean for a week or so until it comes in each month he asks DAILY if it has come in yet. Then he’ll admire the cover and basically have the whole thing memorized and tell us everything he’s learned. It’s become quite a family affair.

So when we found out we are expecting with the first child of the farm (his first grand) we thought how cool it might be if we could somehow incorporate the

Goat Rancher and the monthly excitement of a new issue coming in. I’m hoping the photo conveys that the grow- ing herd has more help on the way to tend to it because that’s ex- actly what we need these days.

The farm is our entire life. We had always had cows and a few years ago dad started with the goats. He lives and breathes by the events section of the Goat Rancher. He’s traveled the country building the breeding stock he has now and is so incredibly proud of his goats. So we have learned the ways of the goats and quirks of all the breeds. It has been nothing short of an adventure. My Husband, Shiloah, was not a farm boy, but now is my dad’s right-hand man!
