Schedule INTRODUCTORY SESSION

Monday, February 1 | 8:00 pm–9:00 pm ET Liturgy, Life, and Discipleship: Exploring Christian Identity In Beyond the Sanctuary, Anne McGowan says, “Baptism creates Christians and bestows our fundamental identity as liturgists.” As members of thef ministers of thef

baptized, we embody the liturgy; as liturgy, we are called to help others live out their baptismal responsibility as

liturgist. In this session, participants will break open three ideas: Liturgy as God’s Gift, Learning to Live Sacramentally, and Going Forth to Love and Serve.

WEEK ONE

Monday, February 8 | 5:00 pm–7:00 pm ET Tech Test: The interactive Adobe Connect meeting platform is quite different from Zoom and other online meeting platforms. While there is a two-hour window available for a technology test of your computer, most participants will only need ten minutes to complete this test.

Monday, February 8 | 8:00 pm–9:30 pm ET Session 1: Liturgy and the Modern World “[T]he Church has always had the duty of scrutinizing the signs of the times and of interpreting them in the light of the Gospel” (Gaudium et spes, 4). In this introductory session, participants will explore the role of the Church’s liturgical celebrations in the context of the world we live in. What does the liturgy teach us about political, social, economic, racial, and ideological disputes? How are we to reconcile our abundant wealth, resources, and economic power with the powerlessness and impoverishment that so many people struggle to survive in?

Tuesday, February 9 | 9:00 pm–10:00 pm ET Virtual Nightcap: A weekly opportunity (on Zoom) for Colloquium participants to connect and discuss the content of the presentations.
