Fashion Buzz WITH Lynette & Brenna

How do you describe fashion? Lynette: Fashion is a fun way to express your personality and feel good about yourself When you dress up you’re more confident and you feel better!

Brenna: Fashion is two parts—Trends & Expression. Trends are the latest “it” things for right now, such as flares or skinnies, items you see “all of a sudden.” Expression is who you are and what you like. To me, fashion is those two things merged together. Fashion is being unapologetically happy and comfortable in your clothes.

Favorite fashion trends right now? Lynette: I love flares and bell bottoms—I hope they never go out of style! I also love the high waisted style of pants and skirts, especially when combined with a bodysuit. I think they are flattering on everybody. I'm also into tall boots, which I think are making a comeback after the bootie trend!

Brenna: I feel like I am all over the place, but everything! I love flares. My favorite current fashion trend is handkerchiefs that can be tied up as a dew rag, braided into hair, tied into a bow, worn as a belt, or tied around the neck in a variety of styles.

Favorite designer or brand? Lynette: Free People—it’s so versatile! Being able to go from a big comfy sweater to a tight midi dress, Free People allows you to continue the boho-western style throughout. Lynette recommends them as the perfect place to shop for staple items that you can mix and match depending on your mood or event.

Brenna: Who doesn’t love Free People? It’s hard to steer away from a brand that is fun, funky, and still somewhat classy.

What are you Fashion Must Haves? Lynette: Animal Print Booties. I wear them on the regular! You can also try any style, from wedges to pumps, and any type of print from snakeskin to leopard— it’s a fun way to dress up any outfit or add a little spice.

Brenna: Jumpsuits or Rompers. Throwing on a romper and using a long scarf tied as a belt, doing something fun with your hair, and accessorizing is a great summer rodeo outfit. Also fun for Finals, these one-piece outfit items have a versatile ability to change from a comfortable shopping outfit to a glammed up performance or after party piece. Plus, they’re great space savers in your suitcase!

The Future of Western Fashion? Lynette: I hope boots never leave! They just go with everything, with any style, but still keep that western root. Brenna: I see a fashion fusion of casual and dressy coming down the pipeline. I think you’ll start seeing a lot more graphic tees with fun earrings, cuter tops or dresses with unique tennis shoes, or leggings with a fancy sweater or blouse.
