OABA and our large operators in Utah, Thomas Carnival and Brown’s Amusements are working with the Utah State Fair, the Utah Association of Fairs and Events, as well as Lagoon Park to make constructive comments to Representative Potter, prior to the bill’s introduction later this year. 


Vermont H. 780. Requires a ride that is moved from location to location to be inspected after the ride has been set up in the state or in the preceding 12 months. Requires a portable amusement ride be inspected by a person certified by the National Association of Amusement Ride Safety Officials, as a Level II, NAARSO inspector. Requires the Secretary of State to insure $1 million of liability insurance to owner and patrons, plus includes operator and patron rider responsibility/safety requirements. We were informed recently that Ohio Department of Health is proposing to remove the rule requiring mobile operations to obtain person in charge certification and plans to review this issue with stakeholders in the future.
