Same Crops Same Inputs Better Solution

by Michael Lucero W

e were excited when we had a chance to catch up with Mark Taylor of Agrellus at his home in Arizo- na. Agrellus is an online company out of Lubbock, TX that connects Growers to Dealers through a brilliant one stop shop website. Rusty Andrews is

the Chief Executive Officer of Agrellus which currently employs five. Mark not only works for Agrellus, but also is an Arizona Farmer culti- vating up to 15,000 acres.

Mark explained how a grower preparing for growing season for ex- ample, will need input supplies at his or her farm. The old process was to call a middle man, the large chemical or seed company, and request a quote. The time calling or driving, waiting, and placing mul- tiple orders could take up to two weeks before delivery. Obtaining quotes from Dealers through Agrellus has eliminated the contact time, and wait time for quotes to essentially five minutes. Quotes will be emailed to the Grower. All from the convenience of a computer,

tablet, or smart phone.

Qualified Buyers, multiple Dealers; we wanted to know more. Mark told us there was no charge for a Grower or a Dealer to sign up and be present on the website. A Grower may ask for a quote for multiple items, delivery by a certain date, and at a place that can be set by GPS. The Grower will receive multiple quotes and can pick from the best prices and quality that fits their needs. This allows for fair com- petition between the small hard to reach Dealer and the large Dealer, and an opportunity for the Grower to save money on their purchases. Multiple secure payment options makes it easy for payment.

Agrellus platform was officially launched January 2017 with Dealers initially signing on in Texas and Arizona, but with a focus on a larger market. I asked Mark what was in store for the future of Agrellus. To fully realize the current platform and possibly expanding to all things agriculture. The Agrellus website is: www.agrellus.farm
