bone of our mission statement in helping pass the traditional country format forward. Last year the School in Peoples Valley had lost their funding for the Music Program so we donated Drums, Guitars, a Piano and a 500.00 Check in support. Last we heard they were doing fine with many enthusiastic students.
Gary, at the award ceremony, those that attended filled the room with outstanding musicianship! Would you share the names of the recipients? How does a musician qualify for the Hall Of Fame Awards? To qualify requires a minimum of 10 years residence in the state and supporting Country Music in general. Any member of GAC can nomi- nate one person every year. The board gathers all nominations. Then for the next 3 months sifts over the nominees and comes up with their top 10. This year’s Hall of Fame members were all so deserving. The website
www.gacwsma.com gives a nice bio in our Newsletter on their achievements, where they are preforming and credits. Gary Clemmons, you stepped down as President of GACWS- MA. Gary, I can’t ever see you not playing or advocating for musicians. Who is the new President? What lies ahead for GACWSMA? Gary, what lies ahead for you? We have supported this organization for many years. When schedules permitted we made the Jam Sessions and enjoyed seeing musicians and singers we had been out of touch with for years. I believe every Arizona Country Music player holds a set of memories and mentors that deserve recognition. It was time to allow room for another’s per- spective set of deserving achievements.
There is a bit more (no pun intended) than meets the eye to being the point guard on such a prestigious organization like this. It would be impossible without a good board that one can delegate, and enjoy the accomplishments with. The officers and directors for the past two years were outstanding. My wife Tina held secretary duties, and

past President Lee Power really worked hard for the organizational duties. Friends and Country Music lovers like Tawny Kite, Gail Allen, Rich War- riner, J.W. Minner, Bill Tuason, Mary Mo Littleton, Herb Riell, Don Kenney, Bill & Gloria Arnold, and Sandy Ferry were all very instrumental in fulfilling the Board of Directors ranks. So many other posi- tions like resident MC radioman Jim West of KNIX & KMLE Country Radios is with us. He anchors our live Radio Station on the Website (Click the But- ton) and hear all Arizona Musicians, all day long.
Much thanks to our dedicated sponsors like Pop’s Music, Little Dealer Little Prices, Sun Valley Tire & Auto, Blazi’n M Ranch & especially A&E Repographics for keeping us on the air. Me? Thanks for asking. I play out with a few different acts. Burnt Biscuits, The Rice Broth- ers, One Mile South, and of course my own project “High Country Special”. Being the only facebook Gary Clemmons in Prescott Valley makes it easy for me to see where I’m playing on the weekends. I have always enjoyed writing country music and it’s something I still do every week.
An acquaintance and Producer/Publisher Les Scott from Fountain Hills, Az. who independently works for several Film & TV interests like Universal keeps my creative energy sparked. I’ve had the good fortune of several works getting placed in sound tracks over the years. Income producing songs come from several media avenues. A hit record on mainstream radio is fun, but not the only outlet listening for material.
The
www.gacwsma.com holds a seat for “the past President” in an honorary consultant position. So I’ll be helping all I can. Tina and I will still be Sitting-in from time to time with the fantastic House band Pike Parker, Skip Garrett, Teddie Fernandez, Fred Oswely & guests. We all would like to invite Musicians, Singers, Dancers & Listeners to join us for a Pot Luck Lunch, and enjoyable Country Music day at the CASA building any second Sunday of the month. Above all, a big thanks to you for being there this year to enjoy the Induction and Convention experience with us.
