Will Dakota, you and our good friend Keith Burns from Trick Pony are on the “Turn up The Heat Tour”! How’s that going? What can we expect? Are you guys coming out to Arizona? The tour is going amazing. Many of the places we have been playing have been sold out! What one can expect with our show is great mu- sic, great energy, and an all in all great time. And we are most defi- nitely trying to make it out to Arizona as I know Keith has deep ties to Scottsdale and Flagstaff so I am hoping we can make it out there!

What is on the horizon for you, your music and more tours? Will be getting back into studio soon, but in the meantime we are go- ing to continue touring as much as we can to reach fans all north, south, east, and west in the US and have a good time doing it!

At Horse & Agriculture Magazine we always have a theme each Issue! The Aug/Sept Issue is “Living Life Well” and I know Keith Burns has shared he lives life in the Left Lane and enjoying life! Any tips or suggestions that you do on living life well? The way that I live my life well is to embrace every moment as well as try not to take this game of life too seriously, have fun, and love one another.

Turn Up The Heat Tour by Miriam Lucero with Will Dakota

W

ill Dakota has made quite the splash since arriv- ing to the Music City 18 months ago. In his short tenure, this singer/song writer from Bismarck has already gathered two NIMA (Nashville Mu- sic Industry Award) nominations. One for Best Male Country Artist, and the second for the Best

Male Live Performance, which should come as no surprise to anyone who has seen his weekly Will Dakota & Friends Show!

Raised in Bismarck, ND, this former tennis/soccer star fell in love with music at 17, and decided Nashville was his place of calling. Currently, touring with award winning and Grammy nominated Keith Burns of Trick Pony, Will is burning up the road on their “Turn Up The Heat” summer tour. Will lives in Nashville, TN and has a deep love of all animals, and when he can, brings his cats Percy and Finn on tour with him.

Managed by B3E Music and with a live studio album already cut and recorded, the sky’s the limit for this ND native.

Will Dakota, I have been listening to your music and in your song “Montana Sky”, I hear Midwestern Country Vibe/Blues and a bit of Cat Stevens sound. How did you develop your sound? Who are your musical inspirations? How would you define your music? The way I developed my sound for the most part came from my musi- cal inspirations. Jim Croce, Cat Stevens, and John Denver. I’ve always loved their music and it is what I grew up with. The best way I believe I can describe my music is that it is a modern day version of the artists above.

Will Dakota, you have been nominated for Best Country Solo Artist Male for NIMA Nashville Industry Music Awards! Would you define that with our readers? How they can vote for you!? Yes, Nashville Industry Music Awards. And I am actually nominated for two. Best Country Solo as well as Best Country Live Performance. The easiest way for anyone to vote would to be to go to my artist
