a leading herd sire. “I know we will have a great bull one day, and I will never stop until we get it. I have a purpose and will never stop believing in it. The bloodlines are there, and we just have to be patient. We’ll keep learning, life is about learning, and we’ll know more every day. We are just really enjoying it.”

They attended several Longhorn sales in 2017 as part of the Barhums’ goal of continuing learning about the breed. These included the Red McCombs Sale, the Red River Sale, and the Texas Longhorn Legacy Sale, where 3S Danica sold for $380,000.

“We were so excited for the Spargers, it was an amazing moment,” says Eitan. “Sandy said that Danica was the lady of the night as she stood there in a royal way with a brand new heifer at her side. It was a special moment and was amazing that it happened to great people.”

The friendly couple admitted that their new journey into raising Longhorns has changed their lives forever. “Some of our best moments in life is when we are with them,” Sandy says. “We are so into them, and they know us so well. It is amazing to watch their disposition. They are just magnificent animals.”

As their time is spent enjoying their

Longhorns, they have managed to capture a lot of what makes the animals so special through photography. Their ranch, carpeted with wildflowers and beautiful scenery, has served as the backdrop of many Longhorn pictures that has captured the interest of many breeders. One in particular was an image of 3S Iron Beauty and her calf, April, which received a lot of interest and “likes.” Another one was Sandy resting against a limb with Longhorns in the background, which was never the intent of the photos.

“Thirty seconds into shooting, we hear the Longhorns coming, and all of a sudden, Tari comes behind Sandy. Tari gets closer and is just smelling her and touching her. This is what we get to experience with these animals. We never knew you could have relationships with cows, but we get so many special moments that are priceless.”

For a cowgirl raised with a love of nature and a city boy from Israel where land is precious, owning and operating a Longhorn ranch has been a huge part of their blessed life. “I will never stop thanking God for what is surrounding me, the peace and the beauty. I have no way to say ‘thank you’ enough. I love this life God gave me and will live it fully. We are very excited about the Longhorns and Longhorn family. It is a part of our life now.”

Editor’s Notes: I typically do not interject anything into articles, but I really want to express how amazing this couple is. I enjoyed every minute speaking with them, and I hope that every reader takes the time to learn more about Eitan and Sandy. They are eager to host visitors at their ranch, so contact Eitan at eitan3224@aol.com or (323) 356-2558.
