Blackie & Lorene Graves

Bob Loomis, Bob Loomis Longhorns – Johnny Hoffman and Blackie Graves were my mentors. Tey were cow men, and I enjoyed the time spent with them and the cattle they sold me. Most of all, I appreciate the things I learned from them and the great stories they told about the cattle.

Bear Davidson & Ben Gravett

Chase Vasut, Rockin AF Ranch – Mine would have to be Bear Davidson and Lane Craſt. I met Bear through the purchase of a Sittin Bull heifer. I then met Lane over the phone conversations about some cattle. We all three hit it off right away. Both of them have helped me so much along the way from breeding advice, pedigree talk, as well as bull selection. Chris Clark has also been a huge help to me and they all have become such dear friends. Te list is a mile long of people who have helped and given me advice, but if I had to narrow it down, these three would be mine. I am forever grateful to this wonderful breed for all the amazing and lifelong friends I have met like these three.

Hoosier Longhorns: Nathan Jones, Dan Jones, Teresa Penn, Tracy Jones

Justin Henry, Double H Longhorns – I have to say, the folks I first met in Longhorns have certainly given us a leg up. Dan Grove was a huge help in us getting started. He has always bent over backwards to help us. He introduced us to Shawn Pequignot and Bear Davidson, and they have been just as helpful. From there, Bear introduced us to Dan and Tracy Jones of Hoosier Longhorns, and the mentoring has just continued. With as kind and helpful as everyone that we have encountered has been to us, it is our pleasure when we get to pass on what we have learned to awesome folks like Bobby McHugh and Ryan Schmidt at Rocky Meadow Longhorns. It is so much fun to see people succeed in their goals no matter what they are.
