I am scouring everybody’s website, studying pedigrees, and teaching the kids about responsibility with the cows. Taylor and I are always looking forward to the sales and getting to hang out with friends we have made in the industry.”

The Rohrs’ breeding program is still new, but their lives have become consumed by finding the key to their success in the industry. They look up to breeders like Bob Loomis, Dale Hunt, the Asbills, Jimmy Jones, the Helm family, Hudson, Bolen, Sedlacek, and many more, asking questions in order to learn more about Longhorns. They knew that taking their time to find the right herd sire would be another key to obtaining the elite Longhorn herd.

“We looked and looked for a herd sire, but we did not get in a hurry and waited for the perfect one. When we found Big Red HR, we knew he could take our program to the next level.”

Big Red HR, featured on the cover as well as the special centerfold, is an embryo full brother to Rowdy HR and another full brother to the $80,000 HR Slam’s Rose, the 80” TTT daughter of J.R. Grand Slam. He is a four-year-old sire who measures 84” TTT. “His production will be very instrumental in the future of Rolling Horns Ranch.”

The Rohrs have been successful with their business ventures, including their family owned business, Superior Pawn

and Gun, LLC, that was established in November of 2011. Austin’s over- 13 years of pawn business experience has helped the store become the most successful independent pawn shop in East Texas. “We currently have stores in Tyler, Whitehouse, Gladewater, and Longview, Texas,” Austin says.

Superior Firearms was started in 2016 after customers started demanding a full-service gun shop. “We have everything you can imagine to 1000’s of guns, optics, accessories, build-a- gun sections, knives, and a full-time gunsmith.” The store is located right in the middle of Tyler, Texas at The French Quarter Shopping Center.

Austin and Taylor have two kids, daughter Brynlee (6), and son Austin Ryan Rohr II (3). The kids are very active with raising the Longhorns, helping the couple name the Longhorns and studying sales books. They also help Austin with everyday feeding chores.

“I believe I am the most blessed person on this earth and thank God every day for giving me my beautiful wife, kids, our five stores, and of course, our Texas Longhorns.”
