Association’s website is now active, meaning we are now online! One of the goals of the new website is to create an interactive experience for new and old breeders, people wanting to get into the business, and those who love the history of the breed. From the initial response, we believe we have achieved success. Not only is it user-friendly, it also looks amazing!

T

For the industry, the site announces upcoming events. It is also the place to find the latest headlines and news. The home page is designed to tell the history of the TLCA and get the viewer educated about the industry.

One of the coolest features – at least for the moment since more is to come – is the Texas Longhorn Journal section. Get the latest issue, or scroll through the past issues. One of the benefits of having the issue online is for the advertisers. As readers scroll through any particular issue, they can easily access a breeder’s personal website or email with a simple click of the button. All ads are hyperlinked to the advertiser’s website. See an animal you like in an ad, if the ad turns red, then click. Want to contact a breeder, click on the email link. Super easy.

Another benefit of having the Journal online is for readers to have easy access to articles that will help their program - from calfhood vaccinations to the latest trends in herd sires. Need hosting tips for a Texas Longhorn breeder doing a ranch tour? Take a look at the popular “Let Me Entertain You” features by Laureen Gennin. It is all there.

But we won’t stop creating a bigger and better website and Longhorn industry. From videos, blogs, easy Registry access, breeder locators, etc., we are on a mission to continue the mission of the TLCA.
