THREE MORE COMPANIES RECOGNIZED AS LANDSCAPE INDUSTRY ACCREDITED
D
ifferentiating a company in a crowded landscape marketplace
is tough, but three businesses have taken steps to raise their profile with a company-wide certification that demonstrates a commitment to high standards to customers. The newest organizations to be recognized as a Landscape Industry Accredited Company are: Garrick- Santo Landscape, The Greenwood Group and Lawrence Landscape. Lawrence Landscape pursued company accreditation because they wanted to give potential customers peace of mind by voluntarily com- plying with high standards set by the program, says Frank Male, production manager for the business. “We also wanted to set ourselves apart from the competition,” he adds. The comprehensive review is beneficial, says Male. “We were about 98 percent in compliance with the standards set, but we did change a few things to bring ourselves up to the standards,” he says. In all cases, the missing piece was a policy that the company had never considered before the review, but agreed with the need for it, he says. “We definitely recommend that other landscape professionals achieve the Accredited Company status, says Nick Sarandos, LIC, of The Greenwood
Group. “Having more Certified professionals and Accredited Com- panies can only help advance our industry.”
Anita Gottschalk,
LIC, MLP, says that Garrick-Santo pursued the designation because “we take our business seriously and with almost four decades in this business we believe it is important to be recognized as leaders in our industry.” She does recommend that others pursue Accredited Company status.
